Sepehr Haddad

Sepehr Haddad is the award-winning author of "A Hundred Sweet Promises," First Place Award Winner - 2022 Bookfest Awards, Winner of the 2021 American Writing Awards, and Finalist in the 2022 International Book Awards for Historical & Literary Fiction. Sepehr is the grandson of composer Nasrosoltan Minbashian who was the director of the Iranian Conservatory (Tehran Conservatory of Music). He is also a Universal Music Group (UMG) recording artist with the Billboard chart-topping duo of "Shahin & Sepehr." He lives in the Washington DC metro area.

2023 Sahba Shayani

Dr. Sahba Shayani

Sahba Shayani is Lecturer in Persian language at the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to joining UCLA as faculty in January 2023, Shayani taught as Senior Lecturer in Persian language at the University of Oxford from 2015 to 2023. He holds a PhD from UCLA in classical Persian literature with a special focus on the role of women in epic Persian romances. His research centers on the crossroads of female representation, agency, and identity in classical Persian literature, specifically Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, Gorgani's Vis o Ramin, and Nezami's Khosrow o Shirin.
